A Snapshot of Your Day

As an EHS Manager in Project (EHS MiP) supporting Grid Technologies, you provide EHS leadership across multiple project sites through regular site visits and close coordination with project and site management. You are not embedded full‑time onsite, but you maintain strong field visibility to verify implementation of EHS requirements, assess risk, and support safe execution. Your role balances project‑level planning and oversight with targeted field engagement, contractor interface, and transparent reporting. You have the authority to intervene and escalate when non‑conformances or elevated risks are identified.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support projects across the lifecycle by planning, implementing, and monitoring EHS performance, with regular travel to active sites to verify execution and effectiveness of controls.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project EHS plan and emergency management concept, ensuring requirements are clearly communicated to project teams and contractors.
  • Perform scheduled and risk‑based site visits, inspections, and field observations to identify hazards, validate risk controls, and define corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review and approve contractor risk assessments, method statements, permits, and training concepts, providing guidance and alignment prior to and during execution.
  • Lead or support incident, near‑miss, and unsafe condition investigations, analyze trends across projects, and track closure of corrective actions.
  • Escalate non‑compliance with legal, customer, or Siemens Energy EHS requirements and promote best practices and lessons learned across the project portfolio.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline. Alternatively, technical expertise in electrical such as a lineman, substation technician or electrician shall be considered – including CSP and/or CUSP Certifications.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience supporting project‑based environments such as construction, EPC, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure, including field exposure.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessments, contractor management, incident investigation, and EHS management systems within active project environments.
  • Ability to work independently, influence across geographically distributed teams, and communicate effectively with project leadership and contractors.
  • Willing to travel 75% for domestic, project‑based assignments.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
