Über die Aufgabe
Snapshot of your day
At Siemens Energy, we are building the next-generation HR Data Platform - a global foundation for data consolidation, governance, and analytics. We are looking for a hybrid Data Engineer & Analyst who can bridge the gap between raw data infrastructure and business intelligence.
In this role, you will own the full data lifecycle: from maintaining the consolidation layer and pipelines of our HR Data Hub to designing the final reporting solutions that empower strategic workforce decisions. You will ensure our data is not only technically sound but also accessible and insightful for business stakeholders.
How you’ll make a difference
- Data Pipeline & Transformation Management: Design and maintain the transformation layer (using dbt and SQL) for the Internal Platform, ensuring raw data is effectively consolidated and modeled for downstream use.
- Analytics & Dashboarding: Develop and optimize dashboards (PowerBI) to provide key insights for HR and Operations units, directly supporting strategic business decisions.
- Data Quality & Governance: Act as a guardian for data integrity by implementing governance practices and monitoring data quality patterns to find and fix common issues in structured and unstructured data.
- Legacy Migration & Optimization: Lead or support migration projects to move legacy data pipelines to modern cloud infrastructure, aiming to eliminate technical debt, reduce costs, and restore stakeholder trust.
- Process Automation: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive data processing and reporting tasks (using Python or SQL procedures), reducing manual handling time for the HR team.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Establish clear documentation for data models and processes, creating a central knowledge base to ensure continuity and team alignment.
What you bring
- Hybrid Experience: Proven cross-industry experience acting as both a Data Engineer and Data Analyst, with the ability to navigate complex pipelines and deliver business-facing insights.
- Core Engineering Stack: Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and Python for data manipulation, along with experience in modern Data Warehousing (Snowflake).
- Transformation & Visualization: Proficiency with dbt for data transformation and major visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar).
- Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to troubleshooting, with experience in navigating complex or legacy data environments and driving infrastructure improvements.
- Communication: Fluent in English (C2 level preferred) with the ability to translate technical data concepts into clear updates for non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Background in Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
About the team
You will be working within the Human Resources function – People Systems and Services, a truly global and diverse team of specialists with an open mindset, responsible for guaranteeing operational performance and budget alignment of HR Systems & Services, ensuring, and maintaining fit-for-purpose HR systems and processes, safeguarding end-to-end delivery while promoting Siemens Energy digital transformation.
