The role is structured around three core areas: strategic data architecture design, technical governance and standards, and project leadership. This focus ensures the development of a robust and scalable data infrastructure, alignment with enterprise standards, and effective execution of data-centric initiatives during the reorganization. Given the focus on these areas, the ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in designing complex data solutions and a deep understanding of IT architecture principles. The role requires a recognized subject matter expert capable of managing large projects with limited oversight and mentoring other professionals. 

How You’ll Make an Impact

• 50% Data Architecture Strategy & Design
  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for scalable and resilient data platforms.
  • Define and maintain the overall data architecture blueprint, including data flows, integration patterns, and technology stack.
  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to support business objectives within the Grid Technologies domain.
  • Create and document architectural solutions for data warehousing, data lakes, and real-time data processing systems.
• 30% Technical Governance & Standards
  • Establish and enforce data architecture standards, policies, and best practices across projects.
  • Conduct architectural reviews of proposed IT solutions to ensure alignment with data strategy and enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure data solutions meet regulatory and security requirements.
  • Govern the data lifecycle, including acquisition, storage, processing, and consumption.
• 20% Project Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead the architectural design phase for large, complex data-centric projects with limited managerial oversight.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers, analysts, and other junior professionals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, translating business requirements from stakeholders into technical data specifications.
  • Facilitate collaboration between development teams, business analysts, and other architects to ensure cohesive system integration.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive professional experience as a Data Architect, Solutions Architect, or in a similar senior data-focused role.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex data projects or processes with a high degree of autonomy.
• Advanced technical capabilities across data management and engineering, including data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT design, cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), database systems (SQL/NoSQL), system integration, and data governance.
• Well‑developed behavioral capabilities, including strategic thinking, effective stakeholder management, coaching and mentoring, and the ability to solve complex problems in dynamic environments.
• Solid understanding of IT architecture principles, including frameworks such as TOGAF, to support the design and alignment of scalable and robust technology solutions.
