A Snapshot of Your Day

The position is critical for developing and maintaining control systems for compressor control panels built in-house, supporting both the Naroda site and other Siemens Energy locations. To meet this objective, the role focuses on two primary areas: the complete lifecycle of PLC & HMI system development, and the subsequent integration, testing, and commissioning of these systems. This structure ensures a dedicated resource manages the end-to-end process from initial design and programming through to final implementation and support, directly addressing the need for specialized in-house automation expertise. Given the focus on control system development and implementation, the ideal candidate will be an Experienced Professional (P2) with demonstrated expertise in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA configuration, and troubleshooting industrial automation systems. A background in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering combined with hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is essential for success in this role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 60% PLC & HMI System Development
  • Design, develop, and document PLC programs (e.g., Ladder Logic) for compressor control panels based on project requirements and engineering specifications.
  • Configure and program Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and SCADA systems to provide effective operator control and data visualization.
  • Create and modify control logic to optimize the performance, safety, and efficiency of compressor systems.
  • Select and specify appropriate control hardware, including PLCs, I/O modules, sensors, and variable frequency drives for new and existing panel designs.
  • 40% System Integration, Testing & Support
  • Perform in-house integration and functional testing of control panels to ensure they meet quality standards and design specifications before deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues during the manufacturing and testing phases.
  • Provide technical support during the commissioning of control panels for projects at SE Naroda and other global SE locations.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including control narratives, logic diagrams, and bill of materials.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience consistent with an Experienced Professional (P2) level, typically involving 3-5 years in PLC programming and control systems design within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Design and Development
  • Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Ladder Logic
  • Human Machine Interfaces
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
  • Process Control
  • Automation
  • Systems Design
  • Engineering Design Process
