As the Commercial Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial and financial aspects throughout the entire sales and bid process. This role involves the strategic preparation and negotiation of commercial and financial terms and conditions, requiring close collaboration with a diverse, international team, including regional stakeholders and headquarters. You will play a pivotal role in developing winning strategies by analyzing customer requirements, evaluation methods, and competitive landscapes. Key responsibilities include defining business models, managing bid components such as cost calculations, financing concepts, risk assessment, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This position requires a hands-on approach to manage the full scope of financial and commercial activities during the sales phase. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance or business administration, coupled with extensive experience in commercial bid management and contract negotiations. Success in this role depends on strong analytical thinking, professional judgment, and the ability to lead negotiations. Excellent communication skills in English are essential, as is the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

What You Need To Make a Difference

  • 40% Commercial & Financial Management
    • Manage all commercial aspects of bids, including contract analysis, cost calculation, financing concepts, currency hedging, and risk/opportunity assessment.
    • Oversee bonds, terms of payment, credit ratings, insurance, export controls, and compliance requirements for each bid.
    • Define and structure business models based on customer needs, business objectives, and tax regulations.
  • 30% Strategic Bid Development
    • Analyze customer requirements, evaluation methods, and criteria to develop winning bid strategies in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
    • Evaluate business conditions and competitor pricing to inform strategic positioning and decision-making.
  • 20% Negotiation & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead commercial negotiations of terms and conditions, coordinating with internal departments such as Legal, Finance, and Tax.
    • Manage relationships and negotiations with external stakeholders, including customers and consortium partners.
  • 10% Governance & Reporting
    • Prepare and present Limits of Authority (LoA) documentation according to established protocols.
    • Ensure the accuracy of final approvals in alignment with negotiation outcomes and provide lessons learned for future projects.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
  • Significant experience in commercial finance roles, such as commercial project management or project controlling, with a strong understanding of project financing and accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial bid or sales management for products, services, or solutions, including direct experience with offer preparation and leading contract negotiations with external customers.
