A Snapshot of Your Day

This role is for an experienced Offer and Order Commercial Project Manager in the newly announced Transformers Repair Center Factory at Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. In this role, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects and project financials (controlling, reporting, and forecasting).

You will work together with our offer and project management organizations with the key objective of driving projects according to our contractual obligations, project management standards, and applicable financial guidelines. This role will be based at our new factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and will initially coincide with the factory’s construction. During this phase, we will focus on developing our processes, refining our offerings, and collaborating closely with a high-performance team. This will involve all aspects of the commercial setup to ensure we are well-prepared to meet the needs of our customers effectively when factory operations start.

 


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Responsible for all commercial aspects and project financials including monthly revenue recognition, financial planning, risk and opportunity management, lessons learned, and optimizing profit margins & cash flow.
  • Ensure achievement of contract requirements (e.g. performance guarantees, insurance, taxes, contractual, etc.)
  • Work in collaboration with the project managers to provide commercial support for assigned projects according to PM@SE guidelines and contractual agreements.
  • Commercial support of tender activities, leading commercial aspects of tender preparation up to bid submission and post bid follow up.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS15, local GAAP requirements, reporting guidelines and internal controls.
  • Responsible for all finance-related project topics, including but not limited to handling Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Foreign Exchange, and NCM Model.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to various levels of management, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Collaborate with counterparts and assist with the training as needed on procedures that impact accounting and finance.
  • Special assignments and interaction with internal partners and external auditors as required.

 

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/ business administration/ accounting required.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Commercial Project Management; candidates with more years of experience may be eligible for a higher-level position.
  • Proficiency and experience with SAP required.
  • Experience within a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • CPA, MBA, PMI certification are considered a plus.
  • Ability to lead cradle-to-grave project management oversight involving sales, engineering, procurement, manufacturing and shipment of power plant equipment.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • If not local to the Charlotte, NC area, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees already in the United States with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
