The Civil / Structural Engineer for Construction Projects is responsible for supporting, reviewing, and overseeing all civil and structural engineering activities during the execution of industrial construction projects, from design coordination through construction and commissioning phases.

This role ensures that civil works and structural systems are designed, constructed, and verified in accordance with Siemens Energy standards, approved engineering designs, applicable codes, and local regulations. The position serves as a key technical interface between Siemens Energy Real Estate BSS, the General Contractor, subcontractors, engineering firms, and internal Siemens Energy stakeholders, contributing to safe, compliant, and high-quality project delivery.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• ·       Review and coordinate civil and structural design packages developed by third-party engineering firms, ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy standards, project specifications, and applicable civil and structural codes.
• ·       Supervise and monitor civil and structural construction activities executed by the General Contractor and subcontractors, including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, steel structures, and building envelopes.
• ·       Verify compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, construction procedures, and quality requirements, ensuring structural integrity and constructability.
• ·       Identify technical deviations, constructability challenges, and interface risks between civil/structural works and other disciplines, proposing safe and compliant solutions in coordination with Project Management.
• ·       Participate in inspections, material approvals, structural walkdowns, and acceptance activities, including concrete pours, steel erection, and structural handover milestones.
• ·       Support project reporting and documentation by managing punch lists, non-conformities, as-built drawings, and lessons learned related to civil and structural scope.

What You Bring

• ·       Strong technical knowledge of civil and structural systems for industrial facilities, including foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, earthworks, and drainage systems.
• ·       Ability to interpret civil and structural drawings, calculations, specifications, shop drawings, and construction method statements.
• ·       Solid understanding of applicable civil and structural standards and codes (ACI, AISC, ASTM, Eurocodes) and ability to align them with Siemens Energy internal requirements and local regulations.
• ·       Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams during construction execution.
• ·       Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks, deviations, and improvement opportunities early in the construction phase.
• ·       Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (spoken and written) for technical coordination and reporting.
• ·       High attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to safety, quality, and schedule performance.

Profile Summary

Civil / Structural Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or large-scale construction projects. Demonstrated experience supporting civil and structural design coordination, construction supervision, and structural acceptance activities. Familiar with international civil and structural standards and best practices, with proven ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments. Recognized for technical rigor, coordination capability, and commitment to safe and high-quality construction execution.

About the team

The Civil / Structural Engineer will report to the Project Manager of Siemens Energy Real Estate BSS for the STM300 expansion project located in Santa Teresa, Guanajuato. The role is part of the Siemens Energy project execution organization, working closely with Engineering, Construction, EHS, Quality, and Commissioning teams to ensure the successful delivery of civil and structural works.

You will collaborate with global and local Siemens Energy stakeholders, as well as external contractors, supporting safe, compliant, and efficient project execution.
