Bid Management Americas - Proposal Lead

 

Summary:

This is a Proposal Lead role to oversee and coordinate all activities related to technical proposals for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and Combined Cycle Equipment. This role includes the entire process from the receipt of a request for proposal to the final award and handover to execution unit. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills and possess in-depth technical expertise related to combined cycle power plants.

 

Job Description:

  • Defines proposal strategy and basic project conditions in collaboration with Sales.
  • Lead the preparation of the technical proposal and ensure its timely and complete submittal.
  • Actively involved in all proposal phases, analyses customer requests and their technical feasibility as well as the possible realization during all proposal phases within the LOA process.
  • Providing technical support in customer meetings / negotiations.
  • Identifies solutions to the customer requirements based on the product portfolio.
  • Create clarification and deviations list to customer specification, based on the offered scope and plant configuration.
  • Lead technical contract negotiations.   
  • Ensure that technical guarantees have been carefully checked and signed off, and technical risks have been accurately presented to Management.
  • Interface with the logistics and purchasing departments for manufacturing information and capacity.
  • Providing input on transfer price calculation.
  • Communicate closely with the Sales and Commercial team to ensure that the technical and commercial proposals are aligned.
  • Interface with US and European factories and engineering departments on product development and capacity.

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering for power industry.
  • Deep understanding of gas turbine technology and our products.
  • Proficient understanding in a diverse and international cultural environment.
  • Fluent in English with excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within teams.
  • Innovation skills, creativity, willingness to share and explore new ideas.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
