A Snapshot of Your Day

Are you interested to work with a team that is driving the energy transformation? At Siemens Energy, you can! Our technology is key, but our people make the difference. Innovative minds that can help us connect, create, and keep us on track towards changing the world’s energy systems.

We’re looking for passionate engineer with solid background in Gas Turbine combustion to join the LGT Combustion Module (MOD CB) team as aero designer for all combustion system developments including hydrogen and special fuels developments. As a part of the multinational and multidisciplinary team you would interface with team members globally for various interdisciplinary topics like mechanical design, thermos-acoustics. You would conceptualize aero design of combustion systems and also help in validation of the same.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. Higher degree can be used in lieu of experience.
  • Must have [3] years of experience with the following skills: understanding different computational methods applied in combustion simulations, realizing and selecting the method and software depending on the project’s time line; experience with engine performance (efficiency, emission, …) as well as details of combustion behavior (physical and numerical turbulent properties, un-mixedness, temperature fluctuations, flashback propensity); advanced combustion simulation methods, software and coding skills to be able to write customized post processing software suites.
  • Candidates with more years of experience can be considered for higher level.
  • Requires global travel up to 20%.

What You Bring

  • Lead and execute the development of combustion aero concepts from preliminary and detailed designs.
  • Execute analyses to down-select new design solutions, to understand the impact of different design solutions on the fuel air mixing, emissions, performance, and dynamics.
  • Contribute to develop as well as execute the combustion aero technology roadmap in support to the advanced combustion systems, including the adoption of alternative fuels (i.e., H2)
  • Communicate results, findings, and observations in a clear and concise manner to peers, IPT Leads and combustion management.
  • Provide feedback to improve/align current Design philosophies to TFP/Part owner.
  • Contribute to project design reviews and status reviews.
  • Partner and coordinate university research programs in the areas of CFD, experimental testing and/or thermoacoustic.

Preferred Skills

  • Product definition skills: Creation of NX models for analysis.

Your opportunities for personal growth

  • Gain expertise in the combustion aero community.
  • Develop Project management skills.
