A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Procurement Team Lead, you will lead Siemens Energy's procurement activities in Nigeria, ensuring alignment between local business requirements and global procurement strategies. You will be responsible for driving sourcing excellence, strengthening supplier performance, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy governance standards.

Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will provide strategic leadership to the local procurement team while fostering operational excellence, supplier collaboration, digital transformation, and continuous improvement across the procurement function.

How You'll Make an Impact

Procurement Leadership

  • Lead and develop the local procurement team, setting clear objectives aligned with Siemens Energy's procurement strategy.
  • Establish, monitor, and drive procurement KPIs to support business performance and operational excellence.
  • Foster collaboration across business units and functional teams to achieve procurement objectives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management

  • Lead local sourcing initiatives and implement commodity strategies aligned with business needs and market conditions.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and demand forecasts to optimize procurement decisions.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies that maximize value and sustainable cost savings.
  • Negotiate framework agreements and oversee contract implementation.

Supplier Management

  • Lead supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance management activities.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships that support quality, delivery, innovation, and long-term business continuity.
  • Monitor supplier performance using established scorecards and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with Siemens Energy qualification and governance requirements.

Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure full compliance with Siemens Energy procurement policies, standards, and governance processes.
  • Maintain procurement transparency through accurate procurement data and reporting.
  • Maintain and monitor procurement risk and opportunity registers.
  • Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across procurement operations.
  • Promote the effective use of digital procurement platforms, including eRfX, eAuction, and eBidding.

Stakeholder Engagement & Risk Management

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support procurement planning and business objectives.
  • Deliver procurement and logistics awareness sessions to internal teams.
  • Identify procurement risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and procurement analytics.

What You Bring

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • CIPS certification or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive procurement experience.
  • Proven experience leading procurement teams in complex industrial or project-based environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing procurement strategies and delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Strong background in supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, and contract management.
  • Experience working within multinational organizations is highly desirable.

The Procurement team is responsible for delivering strategic value across the supply chain by driving sourcing excellence, supplier performance, governance, and operational efficiency. Working collaboratively with business functions and suppliers, the team supports Siemens Energy's commitment to sustainable procurement, digital transformation, cost optimization, and long-term business success.

About the Team

The Maintenance team is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Tahaddart Power Plant through effective maintenance planning, execution, and continuous improvement. Working closely with Operations and other technical functions, the team is committed to maximizing equipment availability, optimizing maintenance performance, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
