We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) with strong project management capabilities and solid technical understanding of industrial environments (automation, OT/IT integration, and digitalization). You will own schedule, cost, scope, risks, governance, and stakeholder communication end-to-end, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality. This is not an engineering lead role: you will not design architectures or direct technical decisions. Instead, you will coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, engage in technical discussions to clarify constraints and dependencies, and translate complex topics into actionable plans and deliverables.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Project Management: Guide and coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure alignment with business goals, scope, timeline, and deliverables of industrial projects. Oversee daily execution via regular syncs; maintain an integrated master schedule (milestones, dependencies, critical path) and manage budget, forecasts, change control.
- Industrial Focus: Understand the technical and operational specifics of industrial systems and digitalization projects to effectively support teams in delivering solutions tailored to these environments. Provide structure and clarity to engineering workflows and interfaces without acting as the engineering lead.
- Technical Management: Track technical progress and coordinate decisions across automation, OT/IT, data integration, cybersecurity, and cloud/edge workstreams; ensure engineering teams remain the technical decision owners while decisions and impacts are captured and reflected in plans.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with automation, OT/IT, data, and cybersecurity engineers to close interfaces, priorities, and owners; turn decisions into concrete tasks the same day.
- Run lean cadences (standups, tech huddles, integration checkpoints) focused on unblocking builds and integrations, not on ceremony.
- Tie sprints to real proof that things work: devices connect, communication works (OPC UA / MQTT / PROFINET), everyone agrees how the data should look, security is applied, and the main tests (FAT/SAT) are done.
- Maintain readiness gates for builds/tests/commissioning.
- Review telemetry and logs with engineers (latency, throughput, errors, drop rates) to spot issues early and steer scope or sequence.
- Sit with customer tech teams to sort out problems and issues fast.
- Capture technical decisions (who/what/when) and immediately reflect impacts in schedule, dependencies, and test plans.
- Align mitigations with engineering leads (workarounds, staged rollouts, mocks/simulators, alternative gateways, temp certificates).
- Enable the experts to deliver by providing decision structure, fast inputs, and friction-free coordination.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), International Project Management Association (IPMA), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) are preferred and considered a plus..
- Industry Experience: Minimum 4 years managing technical projects in industrial contexts (automation, OT/IT integration, digitalization, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing).
- Technical Familiarity: Strong understanding of DCS/PLC/SCADA (e.g., PCS 7, SIMATIC or similar); OT/IT architectures and industrial data integration; industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, PROFINET, Modbus) and TCP/IP networking; hybrid environments (Azure/AWS, on-prem/edge integration); and cybersecurity principles (e.g., IEC 62443). Comfortable following and challenging engineering discussions while engineering teams own design and decisions.
- Project Management Tools: Proficiency with Jira or Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Project.
- Leadership Skills: Strong facilitation and negotiation; lead multidisciplinary teams without directing technical execution.
- Communication Skills: Clear, assertive communication bridging business goals and technical realities with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Agile Expertise: Experience applying Agile methods in complex technical environments.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate integration issues and maintain structured progress despite technical uncertainty.
- Global Collaboration: Experience working with international, cross-functional teams and external partners.
