A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Head of High Voltage Power Transformer Test Field at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Repair Center in Linz, Austria, you will play a pivotal role within the organization planning, developing, and advising the testing of the power transformer. You will lead employees according to the Company’s goals and current regulations and provide the necessary resources. You will ensure and develop your team’s specialist knowledge and supply to the development of business processes.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Take charge of the test department by planning and performing power transformer tests in accordance with established standards and customer requirements.
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of testing, including equipment certification, maintenance, procurement, and the creation of a testing schedule that meets delivery timelines and customer demands.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the testing process.
- Analyze testing issues, lead investigations, and collaborate with the engineering department, providing detailed reports to the plant manager.
- Propose actionable recommendations to enhance test efficiency, optimize processes, and improve testing tools.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal departments to drive business objectives and deliver timely test results while embodying Siemens Energy’s core values of safety and integrity.
What You Bring
- University degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in high voltage testing of power transformers or HV components or HV electrical systems.
- Validated experience of at least 5 years in personnel management, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop teams optimally.
- Proven leadership skills, marked by a strong dedication to achieving results and the capacity to engage and empower team members.
- Extensive knowledge of testing tools and technologies, as well as electric power testing equipment and system development processes, along with an understanding of IEC and IEEE testing standards.
- Proficiency in English and German is required for collaboration with internal and external partners.

At Siemens Energy we offer competitive compensation and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. Due to the Austrian legal regulations, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Please note that there is a clear willingness for a higher compensation considering your individual expectations, expertise and skills. The minimum salary for this position in the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry is in the amount of 79.204,72 € gross/year for a full-time position (38,5 h/week).
