A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Head of High Voltage Power Transformer Test Field at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Repair Center in Linz, Austria, you will play a pivotal role within the organization planning, developing, and directing the testing of the power transformer. You will lead employees according to the Company’s goals and current regulations and provide the necessary resources. You will ensure and develop your team’s specialist knowledge and contribute to the development of business processes.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Managing the test department, planning and leading power transformer tests in accordance with the instructions, standards and customers’ requests to properly address the needs of the factory
- Manage all logistics aspect of testing and required preparation (certification of equipment, maintenance and upgrade of equipment when required, purchase of new equipment, etc.)
- Preparing the schedule of tests according to delivery needs and customers’ requests.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in the process of test field.
- Planning personnel capacities, developing employees to ensure required performance.
- Analyzing the test issues and lead the investigations, team working with engineering department and report to the plant manager.
- Performing new test feasibility as required and inform the various departments involved
- Coaching and supporting direct reports to maintain and improve testing of power transformers
- Making recommendations regarding various subjects such as the effectiveness of tests and how to optimize their accomplishment, tools, etc.
- Communicating and collaborating with the other internal departments in a way that ensures the achievement of the business target and the customers’ satisfaction
- Provide transparency and support to customers as to the understanding of the results of tests
- Delivering on time in line with the master schedule and goals.
- Being responsible for troubleshooting and presenting fault investigation.

What You Bring
- University degree in engineering or similar
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in high voltage testing of power transformers or HV components or HV electrical systems (such as HV power transformer, HV CB, HV CT, HV PT, HV bushings)
- Knowledge of tools and technologies used in testing environments, as well as electric power testing equipment and system development
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management of personnel
- Knowledge of the IEC and IEEE testing standards
- As a leader you are driven and persistent with the ability to create engagement
- Have a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach
- You are proactive and have a risk awareness attitude
- Customer service orientation, communication and respect of deadlines
- Being proud to deliver with quality
- As you will be part of a company that operates on a global arena, fluent in English is required for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, as well as fluent German

At Siemens Energy we offer competitive compensation and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. Due to the Austrian legal regulations, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Please note that there is a clear willingness for a higher compensation considering your individual expectations, expertise and skills. The minimum salary for this position in the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry is in the amount of 79.204,72 € gross/year for a full-time position (38,5 h/week).
