A Snapshot of Your Day

The GIS Field Service Supervisor reports to the Field Service Operations Manager. The successful applicant will be involved with Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Service projects that will include assembly, test and commissioning, maintenance, service, repair, refurbishment and upgrades for the GIS install base across Canada and North America.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Responsibility for on site supervision and coordination of GIS Service projects
• Undertake troubleshooting and fault analysis of the GIS and associated equipment.
• Managing sub-contractors to perform construction and GIS service work.
• Interfacing with the customer and other partners to successfully complete the project scope of work ad to provide customer support and service.
• Working as part of a team to execute work in the field and ensure all field related issues are managed successfully.
• Ensuring that all activity is performed in a timely, effective, safe and cost-efficient manner.

What You Bring

• Prior experience in GIS installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair is preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Siemens Energy HV GIS Certification is preferred but not essential.

• Have good knowledge of computer & Microsoft office skills.
• Highly organized and able to manage schedules, on site coordination of tasks, tracking daily time and expenses, progress reporting, site level resource managment.
• Travel is required; up to 80% domestic and or as project requires.
• Perform maintenance, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment – Mid voltage 66 KV up to 500kV
• Require a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in industrial mechanical-electrical troubleshooting and/or repairs of GIS.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as NETA, OSHA, IEEE, and NFPA.
