A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Development Engineer (f/m/d) for Product Development of Power Transformers in Nuremberg (or globally), you drive development related to AC and DC bushings, On-Load Tap Changers (OLTC) and leads design. You will be responsible not only for the technical content but also for business objectives such as budget, quality, performance, and schedule requirements. You are involved in various topics to support power transformer factories around the world.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Collaborate within a global R&D and factory network to drive innovation and support regional demands.
  • Promote standardization and modularization program while developing, improving, and implementing transformer design rules for specific applications.
  • Assist regional factory sites and engineering teams with technical expertise and operational support.
  • Conduct material qualification and oversee technical supplier development, including audits and managing technical claims.
  • Support global commodity teams.
  • Engage in problem-solving and root cause analyses.
What You Bring
  • Degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
  • Longstanding experience in Finite Element Method (FEM) modelling and high voltage design of electrical devices
  • Experience working on international projects, ideally in transformers and grid technology
  • Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach to complex problem-solving
  • Structured, goal-oriented, and self-motivated with a focus on delivering results.
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration skills, and proficient communication in English; additional languages are a plus

At Siemens Energy we offer competitive compensation and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. Due to the Austrian legal regulations, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Please note that there is a clear willingness for a higher compensation considering your individual expectations, expertise and skills. The minimum salary for this position in the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry is in the amount of €52.853,78 gross/year for a full-time position (38,5 h/week).
