A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, you'll make an impact by identifying opportunities for our service business, engaging with customers to build trust and design solutions, and preparing technical and commercial offers. You'll lead customer engagement, oversee cost integration and risk assessment, and develop standard offerings for FACTS & HVDC projects. Your strong communication skills and technical expertise will be essential in optimizing offerings and collaborating with global teams.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Participates in upfront customer & tender discussions and represents the Service business unit in the relevant discussions; both internally & externally.
- Lead customer engagement and be front face to customer for assigned service accounts.
- Coaches and directs the local and regional sales application team on projects with right strategy, risk analysis and price positioning.
- Responsible to lead overall cost integration and analysis with consideration for technical and commercial risk assessment prior to arriving at final pricing.
- Interface with operations, engineering, and factories throughout the world to optimize our technical and commercial offerings and to resolve configurations and technical changes including prioritization of works as required.
- Identify cost and time-saving opportunities within the proposal development process or stemming from non-conformance instances as lessons learned and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Lead the development of sales campaign from technical perspective and work with overseas factories and experts to prepare service offerings localized to the AU market.
- Lead development of proposal resource library (both text and visual aids) and actively participates in business cases and go to market approaches.
- Investigates and provides recommendations on ways to further localize scope, improve processes and grow the business.
- Lead for tender approvals and management of bid process, and first level of escalation for team members in such process.
- Drive the identification and management of opportunities and bring them to award including achieving internal buy-in and approval (e.g. LoA process).
- Implement Lesson Learnt from operations into future proposals.
- Promote lesson learnt communications between sales team – tender team - project management team – factories.
- Ensure continuous improvement of processes and guidelines to ensure efficient and accurate response time for opportunity development and offer management, closely aligned with the GT Sales organization to meet Order Entry financial targets and capture the market growth potential.
- During high workload period, if shortage of resources or for critical tender review request for quotations (RFQ) received from customers and develop and prepare technical and commercial offers with identification of key scope that highlights our OEM value.
- prepare outside purchase equipment RFQ(s) and work together with the regional supply chain manager(s) to engage and align for a compliant offer.
- Do submissions of bid on time as per the requirements of pricing guidelines issued.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred
- 10+ years’ experience working for a major electrical contractor, electrical OEM with proven experience in the preparation of quotations or selling value proposition for service-based work.
- 3+ years of experience leading a sales and tendering team
- Experience and knowledge of High Voltage transmission industry in Australia.
- Knowledge of HV products will be advantageous (Switchgear Service, Power Transformer Service, HVDC/ FACTS/ Synchronous condenser Service, Long-term service agreement offering)
- Positive attitude to work in challenging environments and in embracing high performance culture.
- Understands cultural differences and copes with them effectively.
- Strong competence in using IT Tools including Microsoft (especially Microsoft Word and Excel), and Salesforce applications.
- Must be effectively mobile both locally as required by the tender/ project.
