We are seeking a Substation Automation System Engineer for HV & MV Substations. Being part of the Grid Automation team, you have full responsibility for successful execution of control system design, planning, and engineering deliverables of HMI / SCADA for HV&MV substation control systems. You will develop technical solutions, comment on customer specifications and engineering standards, check and ensure compliance. Teamwork with Bid Management, Project Management, other domain experts in the team, and suppliers in the field of secondary control systems, is your key to success. The projects you are working on are located all around the world.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Control system specification handling for Substation Automation projects
• Develop concept diagram for substation control system and communications interfaces including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs meeting Mexican CFE technical specifications.
• Configuration, Test and Commissioning of RTU/SCADA/HMI systems for HV Substation projects meeting Mexican CFE technical specifications
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests for control systems
• Creation of project specific technical documentation like functional design specifications, test protocols, etc. based on CFE technical specifications.
• Implementation of Cyber Security measures in the projects

What You Bring

• Completed university degree in electrical engineering, automation or comparable education
• 5 or more years of professional experience in engineering of HMI / SCADA systems for control systems and energy transmission & distribution based in Mexico. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa
• Strong knowledge of regulations, standards and specifications for Control and Measurement Systems from Mexico is mandatory (CFE)
• Deep knowledge in HMI software applications and Substation Automation configuration tools like SEL AcSELerator RTAC, SEL AcSELerator QuickSet, Zenon (optional)
• Good knowledge of OT networking for Substation Automation architectures, communication protocols used in automation systems like IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850, and process data handling and integration of subsystems in automation systems and of SCADA communication Gateway configuration and connection to Remote Control Centers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish (dual-fluency required)

Some travel required (up to 20%, some in the US).
