A Snapshot of Your Day
The Senior Product Engineer will provide full lifecycle product engineering and support for critical gas engine modifications and upgrades, directly contributing to the enhancement and reliability of existing assets in North America. To address this need, the role is structured around three core areas: Advanced Component Design & Modification, focusing on combustion technology like fuel injectors and pre-combustion chambers; Lifecycle Engineering & Technical Support, covering testing, validation, and field issue resolution; and Technical Leadership, reflecting the expert-level responsibilities of this position.
Given the focus on advanced design and lifecycle support, the ideal candidate will be a recognized expert in mechanical product engineering with extensive experience in internal combustion engines. They must possess advanced skills in CAD, engineering analysis, and troubleshooting, supported by a relevant degree and significant professional experience.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead advanced design and modification of gas engine components using CAD, FEM, GD&T, and DFM principles to deliver high‑performance, manufacturable solutions.
- Develop and execute test plans for prototype components, ensuring durability, reliability, and alignment with technical requirements.
- Serve as the top technical expert for diagnosing and resolving complex combustion‑system issues in the field.
- Drive root‑cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives across the product lifecycle.
- Establish and enhance engineering standards, processes, and operational plans for engine modification programs.
- Mentor engineers and manage project workflows to ensure alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and budgets.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field is preferred.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in mechanical product design, with a strong focus on internal combustion engines or related rotating equipment.
- Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through implementation and support.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (PTC Creo, SolidWorks), FEM analysis, GD&T, and engineering drawing standards.
- A problem‑solving mindset with strong analytical and investigative abilities and commitment to quality, documentation excellence, and effective workflow management.
- Experience applying DFM principles and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement.
