Brief description

The Regional Project Development Manager (RPDM) will be part of the Western Europe Sales organization responsible for technical sales and order capture for complex Modifications and Upgrades of steam turbines & generators installed at our customer base in France, Belgium and The Netherlands. In collaboration with the West Europe sales team as well as the Product Competence Centers, the RPDM will be responsible for preparation of quotations/proposals, definition of the project strategy, integration of multiple product line offerings and localized content, and conducting negotiations in coordination with the Regional Sales Team and Product Line (PL) technical resources. With the understanding of customer’s needs, the RPDM will identify the equipment upgrade potential, generate customized proposals, drive customer negotiations whilst ensuring that internal approval processes and margin expectations are met.


How you will make an impact

You own the project development and quotation process from early discovery till the project handover to the execution team

To do so, you :

  • Work within the Regional Sales Team to identify, evaluate, develop, and follow-up on advanced business projects for Steam Turbines & Generators Services.
  • Develop and execute an Annual Operating Plan for meeting your individual targets, and you plan / forecast order volumes based on proactive opportunity development within the assigned territory.
  • Coordinate the regional / steam turbine product line technical resources in pursuit of advanced business for the assigned territory.
  • Investigate and evaluate specific advanced business opportunities for the client related product and service portfolio. You qualify opportunities to determine bid strategy and solution.
  • Manage the sales funnel by timely documenting the life cycle of advanced business opportunities and ensure all advanced business opportunities are properly entered into the CRM system, forecasted and tracked to closure.
  • Prepare, coordinate and conduct project & proposal negotiations in cooperation with the product line and other regional resources, you identify market price levels and apply or recommend discounts as required in accordance with the company discounting policies.
  • Perform / Coordinate the preparation and tracking of proposals in support of the identified opportunities, regional cost modelling and guarantees. Integrates multiple product line offerings and localized content.
  • Support customers directly in cost/benefits analyses and calculations to demonstrate specific advantages of using Siemens Energy products.
  • Incorporate Miller Heiman Strategic Selling Strategies in all sales activities.
  • Provide voice of the client needs/competitive intelligence, market drivers and buying influences for the development of new product and service offerings.
  • Initiate the management approval process for advanced business in accordance with global policies.
  • Support departmental initiatives and opportunities as required.

What you bring

  • 5+ years technical sales experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or combined Business and Engineering
  • Knowledge/experience in rotating equipment
  • Very good command of English both written & spoken, French is preferred and Dutch and/or German will be an asset.
  • Broad commercial and contractual understanding to successfully interact with customers, management / colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Analytical thinking, decision making, result oriented and good communication skills.
  • Flexibility, creativity and open-minded view

In our Program Business team we are looking for a RPDM who will actively develop projects from its initial inception till a customer order is received including the handover to the project management team.
