A Snapshot of Your Day

Digital Grid Innovation and Business Development is a strategic unit within Digital Grid, focused on driving growth through strategic portfolio management, partnerships/M&A, and accelerating innovation (Innovation Management, AI Lab, Future Grid Lab), while ensuring strategies and objectives translate into execution across DG segments.
As PMO Manager – Strategic Projects, Technology & Innovation, you will shape and steer DG IBD’s strategic project landscape by establishing strong governance, transparent reporting, and effective operating rhythms. You will partner with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives end-to-end—from intake and prioritization to execution steering, risk management, and measurable outcomes—while enabling innovation-focused programs to progress with clarity, speed, and accountability. This role blends hands-on program leadership with PMO governance and enablement, supporting DG IBD’s mission to advance innovation and strategic growth across Digital Grid.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Lead and coordinate DG IBD strategic initiatives (portfolio, partnerships, technology & innovation-oriented) from scoping through execution, drive workplan definition, milestones, dependencies, and decision points; ensure delivery against agreed objectives with clear ownership and cadence
  • Establish and run a lightweight but effective PMO governance: intake, prioritization support, status reporting, executive-ready dashboards, and decision preparation. Facilitate recurring operating rhythms (steering committees, review boards, cross-team syncs), ensuring action tracking, escalation handling, and closure of open items.
  • Implement proactive risk management across strategic initiatives: identify, assess, mitigate, and escalate risks early; track dependencies across teams and portfolios. Ensure lessons learned and best practices are captured and adopted to improve execution maturity over time.
  • Coordinate cross-functional contributors (R&D, product, portfolio, finance, marketing/communications as needed) to ensure initiatives remain outcome-driven.
  • Translate complex program status into clear, concise storylines and materials for senior stakeholders; prepare decision papers, progress updates, and executive readouts.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or comparable field; advanced degree (Master/MBA) is a plus.
  • Several years of experience in PMO/program management/strategic project execution in a technology, innovation, digital, or industrial environment.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in project tracking tools and data visualization.
  • Proven capability to operate in cross-functional, multicultural organizations, driving alignment and outcomes without formal authority.
  • Strong command of project governance, milestone planning, and stakeholder steering; ability to create transparency and structure across multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (German is a plus depending on location); ability to craft executive-ready narratives
  • Familiarity with agile ways of working and hybrid delivery models in software/technology environments (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe concepts).
  • Exposure to energy industry digitalization topics (e.g., grid software, automation, digital twins, IIoT) and/or innovation ecosystems and partnerships.
