Despre rol
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Mechanical Field Service Representative for Industrial Steam Turbines and Generators, you will serve as the primary on‑site technical expert supporting maintenance, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. Operating primarily across the United States and Canada—with occasional international assignments—you will travel extensively (over 70%) to customer sites, often on short notice.
You will manage the full on‑site scope of work, from planning with project managers to executing and documenting all service activities. This includes leading diverse teams of internal personnel, contractors, and customer staff while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Your ability to interpret engineering drawings, solve complex technical issues, and communicate findings clearly will directly influence equipment reliability, customer satisfaction, and long‑term business success. A strong commitment to a zero‑harm safety culture and the flexibility to work varied shifts are essential.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance on industrial steam turbines and generators.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and control issues during planned and unplanned outages.
- Communicate project status and risks to Project Managers throughout execution.
- Document service activities including reports, modifications, and EHS compliance forms.
- Lead on‑site teams of internal staff, contractors, and customer personnel.
- Enforce zero‑harm safety practices and contribute to field service best‑practice development.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years of related experience is required; Technical training, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Generation, or related technical field is a plus.
- Technical expertise in steam turbines, generators, rotating equipment, and I&C systems.
- Operational field service skills including troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply them in the field.
- Strong communication and customer‑facing skills with experience leading on‑site teams.
- Valid driver’s license and passport with willingness to travel over 70%.
