Head of Operational Planning – Aeroderivative Gas Turbines

A Snapshot of Your Day

The purpose of our Head of Operational Planning position is to provide the Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (AGT) team with strategic leadership and support for our execution business. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (SE GS D AGT).

In this role you will lead the integrated Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and ensure operational alignment across demand, supply, inventory, and resource planning. This senior leadership position is critical in translating business strategy into executable operational plans, optimising supply chain performance, and supporting Siemens Energy’s commitment to reliability, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.

As a key contributor within the executive team, you will help identify and drive key business objectives and long-term operational needs for the AGT business, guiding the organisation towards future success.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and govern the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process across all AGT business units, ensuring alignment with best practices and corporate standards.
  • Develop and continuously improve long-term operational planning strategies to optimise production capacity, resources, and inventory levels.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment between Sales, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Project Management to ensure integrated business planning.
  • Oversee capacity and resource planning to meet demand while balancing cost, operational efficiency, and service levels.
  • Utilise advanced analytics, scenario modelling, and KPIs to support strategic decision-making and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Drive process optimisation and digitalisation initiatives across planning activities, leveraging tools such as SAP IBP and AI-supported forecasting.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies, including contingency planning for demand changes or supply disruptions.
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting dashboards to monitor forecast accuracy, delivery performance, and inventory optimisation.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Operational Planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in supply chain or operational planning, including leadership experience managing planning teams.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing Sales & Operations Planning processes in a complex, global environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP and planning systems (SAP preferred) along with advanced analytical and data management skills.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic operational plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities across complex organisations.
  • Industry experience within energy, power generation, manufacturing, or industrial service environments is highly desirable.
  • Technical understanding of Siemens Gas Services portfolio and the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine business would be advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally both nationally and internationally.
