A Snapshot of Your Day

Join us as Head (f/m/d) of EQS within Business Strategy EQS (GT BS EQS), where you take overall responsibility for the strategic direction, performance management, governance, and cultural impact of Environment, Quality & Safety (EQS) across Grid Technologies.

In this role, you shape how we protect our people, safeguard our products, and sustain trust — in everyday operations and in moments of crisis. This includes Health & Safety, Sustainability, Non‑Conformance Management, Product Safety, and Business Continuity considerations.

Working at the intersection of Grid Technologies business strategy, senior management, and operational execution, you define and steer the EQS strategy in close alignment with the overarching Business Area strategy and Siemens Energy EQS. You ensure EQS priorities, objectives, and programs are business‑driven, risk‑aware, digitally enabled, and contribute to safe, resilient, sustainable, and high‑performing operations – including acting as a trusted EQS leader during crises, major incidents, or geopolitical disruptions where fast, clear, people‑centred decisions matter most.

You establish and steer EQS performance monitoring, controlling, and reporting based on KPIs and OKRs, supported by regular reporting cycles. You provide decision‑relevant, forward‑looking insights to senior management and boards covering performance development, trends, risks, business continuity, NC status, Product Safety topics, and the progress of EQS initiatives.

You connect and energize EQS networks and communities across functions and regions, and foster a strong safety and quality culture beyond formal processes – mobilising leaders at all levels to role‑model, reinforce, and own safe and responsible behaviours, and ensuring learning from events translates into tangible change on the ground. You also act as the primary interface to Siemens Energy EQS. In this role, you ensure alignment with corporate requirements while actively feeding back operational insights, lessons learned, and innovation opportunities — including the practical application of digital and AI solutions in EQS.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Define, own, and continuously advance the EQS strategy for GT BS EQS, aligned with Siemens Energy EQS and the Grid Technologies business strategy.
  • Establish EQS performance, risk, and continuity management, including monitoring, controlling, and reporting via KPIs and OKRs, and deliver regular updates to senior management and boards.
  • Strengthen Health & Safety and wellbeing culture through Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), including employee‑driven engagement formats and communication and awareness campaigns, including the use of the Oopsy mascot to foster learning from events and near misses.
  • Act as a key EQS contributor in crisis situations, supporting leadership with structured guidance, risk assessment, and employee safety considerations in volatile or geopolitical contexts.
  • Drive Sustainability and regulatory topics such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy, circularity, biodiversity, SF₆, and material compliance with clear governance, transparency, and business relevance.
  • Enable hands‑on digital and AI‑supported EQS innovation, turning data into early warning signals, clearer risk transparency, and faster learning and better operational excellence across sites, projects, and regions.
  • Ensure process ownership, process‑house maintenance, audit coordination, and preparation of annual EQS Management Reviews.
What You Bring
  • Academic degree in engineering, natural sciences, or a comparable field, combined with deep EQS leadership experience in complex, matrix organizations.
  • Strong operational exposure to manufacturing, service, and project environments, with a solution‑oriented mindset and high personal commitment to occupational health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, integrate EQS with business priorities, and navigate ambiguity, crisis situations, and competing stakeholder interests.
  • Curiosity and courage to apply digital and AI capabilities pragmatically to EQS challenges and continuously improve impact and effectiveness.
