Siemens Energy Fossil Services - A Global Network of Innovation

Our Siemens Pittsburgh Service Center facility is located in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. It is home to Siemens Energy Fossil Service's - Specialty Field Services (Turbine and Generator Specialty Services, TGSS). From this location (and with team members located across the Americas) we perform major repairs, upgrades, maintenance and inspection on the Siemens, Parsons, Westinghouse and Allis Chalmers turbine and generator fleet. Our Team can perform almost any major service offered by the factory and service can be performed at a customer site.

A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

We have a need for a skilled Field Service Engineer - Electronics. Our Field Service Engineer will be based in our office Pittsburgh and provides development engineering and field support for nondestructive inspection services at power plant sites across the Americas including the United States, Canada, Central and South America.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

·         Lead and support field service inspections at domestic and international power plant sites using remote robotic inspection equipment.

  • Provide on-site engineering, technical, and supervisory support to field technicians during outages and service activities.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve specialty field service applications, tooling, and inspection technologies.
  • Support outage planning, production control, and field execution to ensure timely delivery of tools, personnel, and services.
  • Prepare, review, and submit detailed reports, task plans, schematics, and inspection findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Train and qualify NDE technicians through hands-on instruction and development of training plans.

What You Bring (requirements)

·         Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience.

  • Strong hands-on experience with electronics circuit design, mechanical systems, and testing equipment.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools and experience with additive manufacturing or rapid prototyping.
  • Knowledge of turbine and generator inspection methods and nondestructive evaluation practices.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and customer-facing skills with the ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%, work in confined spaces, and pass background checks for nuclear facility access.

DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Prior experience with Siemens Field Service.
  • Process improvement training/skills.
  • NDE Training or Certifications (UT, ET, PT, MT, VT).
  • Experience with Siemens systems.
