A Snapshot of Your Day

To design, configure, and support the implementation of FACTS solutions (e.g., SVC Classic, STATCOM, FSC, HVDC) that enhance grid stability, power quality, and transmission efficiency. 

The Application Engineer acts as a technical interface between Siemens Energy and its clients, translating system needs into robust engineering solutions. 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Technical Design & Configuration 
  • Develop application-specific solutions using FACTS technologies. 
  • Customize control algorithms and system parameters for client-specific grid conditions (desirable). 
  • Support pre-sales and tendering teams with technical documentation and simulations.
  • Manage and Update the FACTS installed base in Brazil.
  • Explore the existing installed base to Support the Front Sales Team to develop Go to Market approaches to propose Spare parts, Services and Refurbishments
  • Visiting customers to Support portfolio technical presentations
  • Interface with R&D and global portfolio application in Germany to develop local offers and solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, commissioning, service, after sales) to ensure successful delivery. 
  • Provide technical support during project execution (FAT/SAT and commissioning). 
  • Troubleshoot and optimize system performance post-installation. 
Customer Interface:  
  • Participate actively in technical discussions with utilities, grid operators, and EPCs. 
  • Present solutions and performance analyses to internal and external stakeholders. 

Innovation & Development: 

  • Stay updated on emerging grid technologies and contribute to R&D initiatives. 
  • Support digitalization efforts, including integration with SCADA and remote monitoring platforms. 

What You Bring 

  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, control systems, and high-voltage engineering. 
  • Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink) - Desirable. 
  • Familiarity with Siemens FACTS portfolio and grid codes. 
  • Experience with data-driven diagnostics and digital twin concepts. 
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and digital integration in grid systems. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field. 
  • Specialization or experience in FACTS, HVDC, or grid stability technologies. 
  • Fluent in English; other languages (e.g., Spanish, German) are a plus. 
  • 60-70% available for travel

You will work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and highly collaborative team, embedded in Siemens Energy’s Services organization, operating at the interface between engineering, sales, project execution, and customers. The environment is highly technical, challenging, and solution‑oriented, with strong interaction with both local and global teams—particularly specialists and centers of excellence in Germany. In this role, you will have the autonomy to propose solutions, contribute to the development of the services portfolio, support go‑to‑market strategies, and actively participate in the digital transformation of the area, while maintaining direct exposure to customers, critical electrical system technologies, and strategic projects that are essential to the stability and reliability of the energy sector.
