A Snapshot of Your Day
The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) professional performs the following daily activities:
- Performs daily walk-through inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards and verify compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinates and supervises the implementation of safety protocols in daily operations.
- Manages EHS needs of business unit projects.
- Supervises key environmental and safety performance indicators
- Manages incident or accident response, including investigation and documentation
- Develops and updates emergency and evacuation plans
- Coordinates safety training programs for new and existing employees
- Assists in risk assessments for new processes or equipment
- Maintains communication with regulatory authorities to ensure regulatory compliance
- Manages internal compliance audits and prepares documentation for external audits
- Oversees the handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes
- Participates in team meetings to integrate EHS considerations into new projects
- Participate in daily meeting with production and logistics supervisors.
- Interact with workers, promoting our zero harm culture.
- Review status of outstanding corrective actions from previous inspections.
- Review statistics
- Prepare reports for EHS management on safety trends.

- Reducing workplace accidents: You will implement preventative measures that will reduce the frequency and severity of incidents, protecting the well-being of employees and reducing costs associated with accidents.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance: Ensure that the company aligns with all Mexican and international environmental and safety regulations, avoiding fines, penalties and closures.
- Continuous process improvement: See opportunities to optimize operations from an EHS perspective, contributing to operational efficiency.
- Reduction of the environmental footprint: Implement strategies together with the Environmental and Sustainability Manager to minimize the environmental impact of operations, aligning the company with international sustainability standards.
- Strengthening the safety culture: Develop awareness programs that will transform employees' attitudes toward safety, creating a safer work environment.
- Protecting corporate reputation: Will help maintain the company's positive image with customers, suppliers and the community by demonstrating commitment to responsible practices.
- Cost optimization: Will efficiently manage resources related to safety and environment, identifying potential savings without compromising standards.
- Operational continuity: Develop contingency plans that will allow the company to maintain operations even in adverse situations.
What You Bring
- Educational background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Industrial, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional experience: Minimum 3 years in field projects and/or manufacturing industry, and/or oil industry, working with interdisciplinary teams.
- Integral vision: Ability to balance safety objectives with production and quality goals.
- Preventive thinking: Ability to anticipate potential risks before they materialize.
- Continuous improvement attitude: Constant focus on optimizing processes and safety systems.
- Cultural adaptability: Ability to align with German quality and safety standards, adapting them to the Mexican context.
- Results orientation: Focus on obtaining positive metrics in key EHS indicators.
- Resilience: Ability to maintain high standards even in situations of pressure or change.
Technical Skills
- Management systems: In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, as well as their practical implementation.
- Regulatory framework: Mastery of Mexican environmental and industrial safety legislation (NOM, STPS, SEMARNAT) and international standards.
- Risk management: Ability to identify, evaluate and mitigate operational risks.
- Incident investigation: Methodologies for root cause analysis and determination of corrective actions.
- Continuous improvement: Tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, and Lean applied to EHS.
- Digital competence: Handling of specialized EHS management software and ability to implement digital solutions (EHS 4.0).
- Technical communication: Ability to translate sophisticated technical requirements into language understandable to different organizational levels.
- Data analysis: Ability to interpret safety metrics and trends to advise decisions.
- Languages: Intermediate English to interact with headquarters and international teams.
About the Team
The EHS team is an integral part of our company's operation, this position will report to the Business Unit Head and Site EHS Management, and will work closely with all operational areas and different Business Units (5). As a member of this team, you will:
