Are you interested in joining a global team that is driving the energy transformation? At Siemens Energy, you can. Our technology is key, but our people make the difference. Great minds innovate. They connect, create, and keep us on track towards changing the world’s energy systems. We’re looking for a passionate engineer to collaborate with the global COE team. This COE, Customer Order Engineer, will provide technical support for modernization and upgrades to Large Gas Turbines (LGT). The COE will be responsible for ensuring the full scope of the upgrade is implemented from identifying the parts required for the upgrade, providing input for the relevant controls changes, and completing the project by performing thermodynamic calculations and evaluations to ensure all performance expectations are met.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide Technical leadership for assigned upgrade projects from change order execution through final validation and customer acceptance.
  • Analyze change order requirements, technical specifications and established scope definitions to define upgrade requirements and relevant deliverables.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, project management, and procurement teams to verify that all required components are properly defined and delivered to support the outage schedule.
  • Ensure correct turbine configuration and compatibility of upgrade components with existing turbine configurations.
  • Perform Thermodynamic calculations/evaluations of the GT based on operational data.
  • Collaborate with I&C engineering on controls changes required to support implementation of the upgrade.
  • Support Performance testing on-site to prove power and/or efficiency associated with an upgrade.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering ( or other related technical field)
  • 5+ years of working experience in gas turbine engineering, preferable in upgrades, field service or Customer Order Engineering
  • Product knowledge: strong understanding of gas turbine systems, components, and GT thermodynamic modeling
  • Software: Proficient in MS-Office, SAP, Teamcenter and PCM documentation.
  • Tools: Familiar with Gas Turbine as well as combined cycle thermodynamic calculation methodologies.
  • Partnership skills: Collaborate with team colleagues in multiple time zones.
  • Networking skills: Establish relationships and build networks in a globally distributed team, connect with the service engineering component groups, other engineering groups (BOP, I&C) and project management.
  • Fluent in English
  • Travel may be required for execution of COE efforts. Estimated travel not expected to exceed 10%.
