Join Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy as a Crane Operator at our Fort Madison Blade Facility and play a key role in supporting the manufacturing of world-class wind turbine blades. In this role, you will safely operate overhead cranes to move molds, blades, webs, mandrels (dorns), and other large production equipment throughout the facility. How You’ll Make an Impact
- Safely operate overhead cranes to move molds, blades, webs, mandrels (dorns), and other production equipment throughout the facility.
- Receive and perform oral and written work assignments while following established work instructions and procedures.
- Conduct visual inspections of cranes and related equipment before and during operation to ensure safe functionality.
- Document, organize, and retain inspection and evaluation findings accurately and in a timely manner.
- Interpret drawings, sketches, and specifications to obtain material and dimensional information with minimal supervision.
- Set up, operate, and maintain equipment used in the assembly, inspection, and evaluation of components according to Siemens and industry standards.
- Assist with assembling, verifying dimensions, and disassembling components and production setups as required.
- Work collaboratively with managers, engineers, and production teams to support manufacturing operations.
- Follow all applicable safety standards, specifications, and shop procedures.
- Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to established safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support team-based initiatives and contribute positively to daily operations and continuous improvement efforts.

What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous crane operation experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain all required PIME certifications by successfully completing company training and testing requirements.
- Ability to obtain a Crane Operator License through company certification programs.
- Ability to obtain Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the metric measuring system.
- Ability to obtain forklift, Crown Wave, and crane operator licenses through the Safety Department.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks for 8 or more hours per day.
- Willingness and availability to work overtime, including up to 12-hour shifts and scheduled days off when required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
