A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Commissioning Engineer within the HVDC Communication Team, you will test, verify, and commission communication systems, network infrastructures, and HMI concepts for innovative HVDC projects. Working in a multinational environment, you will collaborate with project management, system engineering, and component engineering teams to deliver reliable communication solutions for HVDC systems worldwide.

Your role will be critical in ensuring the successful commissioning, functionality, and quality of communication networks and interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Commission, support, and optimize HVDC communication systems, network infrastructure, and SCADA-level communication components at project sites worldwide.
• Manage TCP/IP-based networks, HMI systems, communication interfaces, time synchronization systems, and signal converters to ensure reliable system operation.
• Troubleshoot communication networks and interfaces while supporting customers, partners, and commissioning teams during testing and commissioning activities.
• Contribute to quality, risk, and claim management activities and support continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and Lean programs.

What You Bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a comparable qualification with 4+ years of experience.
• Experience with network administration, including switches, routers, network security, monitoring, and TCP/IP-based communication systems.
• Knowledge of HMI systems, PC administration, virtualization, electrical systems, circuit diagrams, and measuring instruments.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP and RADIUS.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Fluent English language skills and a collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to travel globally and undertake long-term assignments at project sites, including offshore locations when required.

The HVDC Communication Team is responsible for testing, validating, and commissioning communication systems, network infrastructures, and HMI solutions for Siemens Energy’s HVDC projects. The team works closely with global project and engineering organizations to ensure reliable and innovative communication solutions.

The environment offers opportunities to develop as a Commissioning Manager, Technical Expert, or Project Manager while working on cutting-edge HVDC technology and international energy projects.
