A Snapshot of Your Day

Many of your days you will be working on inter-disciplinary teams to respond to customer contract terms. You will be analyzing contracts terms, identifying contractual risks, drafting, and negotiating agreements, and advising Siemens Energy management on risks, mitigations, and market conditions related to T&Cs.

When you are not working on commercial matters with business partners and customers, you will be working with your legal and compliance colleagues to ensure that our standards are kept current with emerging legal landscape, market conditions, and new product and solutions offerings in the Energy transition. You may also be requested to support our innovation teams on commercialization of new technologies, and to contribute to ensuring internal processes and risk evaluations remain effective and lean.

 How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Be the trusted advisor and manage legal matters/risks in relation to general commercial and contract law in international business for Siemens Energy’s Gas Services Business (including general legal aspects concerning intellectual property, product liability, procurement, administrative and general corporate law, torts and claims).
  • Proactively assist and contribute to mastering business challenges by entrepreneurial thinking (balancing governance and business needs).
  • Maintain and further improve best in class Legal department.
  • Advance process optimization and lean principles to gain efficiencies.
  • Foster an organizational culture of ownership, empowerment, transparency, speak up and inclusion and diversity.
  • Collaborate closely within the global LC community.
  • Develop and provide training and educate key stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or other field relevant to Siemens Energy core offerings. J.D. preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in contract management or corporate legal teams in the Energy industry or related technology field. Advance degrees may be considered in lieu of years of experience.
  • Demonstrated success of handling complex contracts specific to the sale of parts, goods, software, digital solutions, and services for the Energy industry.
  • Strong negotiations skills with the ability to effectively lead or support a negotiating team consisting of Legal, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Proposals, and Project Implementation personnel.
  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently and work well in groups.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
  • The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and generate team consensus to move forward.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills with demonstrated ability to develop and communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of stakeholders.   
  • Ability to travel nationally/internationally 15-20%
  • Fluent English, and fluency in Spanish preferred 
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

The team of legal professionals works closely with the business partners responsible for the sale of Service solutions for Siemens Energy power generation equipment, throughout the Americas. The Service offerings range from master purchase agreements, urgent plant service requests, to complex long-term service and operation agreements.
