The Certification Manager is a key role within the Offshore Wind Business focusing on the delivery of large-scale offshore wind-turbine-related interface and certification tasks in Japan. As part of the CLR (Certification & local Regulations) team within Project Execution, and reporting to the separated project manager.
How You’ll Make an Impact
To follow the SGRE APAC strategy increasing the market share in Japan and Korea, supporting the high chance to award 1 to 2 projects in Japan Round 3 at the end of 2024 and establish a long term project baseline for JP market.
- Implementing robust and feasible certification strategies and plans with the project team.
- Support tendering and managing the contracts of tower design check, wind tunnel test, and other related local requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining relationship with local stakeholders such as developers, design consultants, and certification bodies, authorities (METI) and senior professors validating the certification documentation
- Complying with company engineering standards and technical acceptance criteria, in particular on loads iteration scope
- Ensuring quality, best practices and excellent H&SE performance principles
What You Bring
Role
1. Project Certification Coordination: Define and verify applicable local codes and standards for projects in the APAC region, particularly Japan, while driving collaboration with local partners and SGRE teams across Europe, APAC, and the US to compile necessary certification documents.
2. Certification Requirements Negotiation: Support expert teams in various technical domains to negotiate certification requirements, defend validation substantiation with certifiers, suppliers, and authorities and their senior expert assessors. Establish a comprehensive Certification Plan in cooperation with certification specialists.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting: Represent SGRE in international expert forums, facilitate communication among stakeholders, manage meetings, and provide progress reports on deliverables, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones. Present SGRE certification package documentation and relevant references to senior assessors, negotiated content, pick up and communicate concern and challenge to SGRE internal stakeholders
4. Standardization and Market Acceptance: Promote SGRE standards for project certification and product validation, adapting regional project requirements to align with these standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the certification process. Educating internal stakeholder on local requirements and align with local partners regarding optimizing documentation and technical consideration, in particular for load iterations
5. Data Management and IT Integration: Manage reporting tools and deliverable databases in SharePoint, coordinate document transmission to external stakeholders, and ensure effective tracking and project management of project certification deliverables using IT tools like Polarion, Arconex, and JIRA.

- : Oversee project interfaces in certification according to market-specific requirements and standards, ensuring alignment with stakeholders on certification and validation scope, timelines, and documentation formats.
- : Develop and implement a comprehensive certification plan, monitor progress against milestones, and follow up on action items to ensure timely realization of project objectives.
- : Agree on and maintain the design basis for projects, regularly updating certification requirements and documentation to ensure consistency with the agreed design parameters.
- : Lead cross-functional teams in validating loads and wind farm-specific parameters in accordance with certification plans, covering all aspects of design, manufacturing, transportation, installation, and commissioning with the CLR team’s support.
- : Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of standards and practices, facilitate stakeholder meetings to report on deliverables and progress, and manage project certification documentation in SharePoint, ensuring timely collection and delivery of documents.
