This role is critical for business continuity and supporting significant service growth within the Internet of Things (IoT) team. As a Senior Professional, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, stability, and operational integrity of our core IoT platform, which is live in production factory environments and serves as one foundation for our digital manufacturing strategy. The position's responsibilities are centered on advancing our platform's capabilities through intelligent automation and robust operational practices. Key focus areas include owning the reliability and lifecycle of production APIs, designing and implementing AI-driven automation for self-healing and orchestration, and maturing our DevOps culture through advanced CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). This role operates in a complex, distributed environment, spanning from the AWS cloud to containerized workloads on the factory shopfloor. The ideal candidate is a seasoned platform engineer with deep expertise in AWS, DevOps methodologies, and system automation. You will be expected to lead complex troubleshooting efforts, work independently to architect and implement agentic AI solutions for operational tasks, and ensure the security and scalability of our platform. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can manage projects, coach junior team members, and drive technical excellence across cloud and edge environments.

What You Need To Make a Difference

  • 40% Platform Reliability and API Ownership
    • Ensure high availability, scalability, and stability of the IoT platform across AWS and edge environments.
    • Own the full lifecycle and operation of production IoT APIs and MCP endpoints, ensuring security, versioning, and performance for factory-facing services.
    • Lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for distributed cloud-edge systems to guarantee stable production operations.
    • Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities across infrastructure and services (IAM, system hardening, network isolation) to maintain compliance.
  • 30% AI-driven Automation and Orchestration
    • Design and implement agent-based automation for platform operations, including self-healing, automated workflows, and intelligent alert handling.
    • Integrate agentic AI components into platform operations to drive efficiency and proactive management.
    • Develop API-driven orchestration between platform services and automation agents to enable intelligent, automated decision-making.
    • Drive the automation of operational tasks using AI-supported decision logic and orchestration patterns.
  • 20% DevOps and Continuous Delivery
    • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) for the automated deployment, testing, and validation of platform components.
    • Apply Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles using AWS-native tools like CloudFormation or CDK to manage platform resources.
    • Standardize platform patterns and operational workflows to improve deployment efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
  • 10% Edge Integration and Technical Enablement
    • Support containerized workloads on Linux-based edge environments, ensuring reliable operation of distributed deployments.
    • Maintain clear technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and operational runbooks for global teams.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in IT infrastructure administration, platform engineering, or a similar DevOps-focused role.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently with cloud platforms (specifically AWS), CI/CD practices, and scripting for automation.
