Master thesis: Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics

A Snapshot of Your Day

The master thesis focuses on data and artificial intelligence, involving challenging projects with field data. By visualizing this data and utilizing pre-implemented AI routines, you will further develop methods to analyze the gathered data for various purposes. With our assistance, businesses can extract maximum value from their data and develop analytics solutions that provide strategic advantages in their day-to-day operations.

Are you passionate about the environment and climate change? Do you want to contribute to the future of energy transition? If so, the Siemens Energy Data & AI team is the perfect place for you to make a significant impact in driving the energy transformation. We understand that we don't have all the answers. Given the scale of the challenge we face, we need diverse perspectives to help us reimagine the future. And we know that we can't do it alone.

Our team is seeking innovative, enthusiastic, and versatile professionals with expertise in data, digital, and AI, who can help drive us forward on this exciting venture.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will study the complexity of the interaction of air and fuel, and you will learn to establish the following processes and validate those according to Siemens Energy Guideline.
  • In the development process Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), acoustic simulations, water tests, atmospheric and high-pressure combustion tests, and gas turbine engine tests will be used which is reflected in our fleet data where the analyzing tool will figure out that everything is according to the expectation.
  • Increase your experience and knowledge in collaboration with the Combustion Team.
  • Contribute to the mission on running on green fuels in the energy sector.

What You Bring

  • A student of master’s degree in physics, Computer science, Mechanical engineering or similar
  • Interested in gas turbines, combustion, and numerical simulations.
  • Willing to learn and try out new methods based on Computational Fluid Dynamics using Star-CCM+
  • Previous experience with CFD and acoustic programs, programming skills and/or measurements is an advantage.

About the Team

In our team we have many talented and highly educated engineers in various engineering fields, over 50% have at least a PHD degree from a well-known university. Our strength is to gather the desired competences in one single group all from chemical engineer to understand the kinematic combustion phenomena and to applying the theoretical Navier stokes equations in own developed software for adapting our products in a flexible market. We have also commercial software and many CPU power for setting up high resolution mesh to iterate our concept from idea to a finished product.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.

We can offer you employment benefits such as: reduction of working hours, advance vacation, health care allowance and an eventual possibility to a flexible working place.
