A Snapshot of Your Day 

As Head of Tender Management (f/m/d), you lead a high-performing, agile team at the forefront of energy transformation. Your role involves a dynamic blend of strategic leadership, hands-on project oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and interaction with internal customers and partners. You are responsible for managing the FACTS portfolio tender stage until handover to execution. A critical part of your mandate is to foster and develop a high-performance execution team, ensuring operational excellence, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement across all phases of delivery in close alignment with the Sales & Execution Teams worldwide. You will empower your team to achieve ambitious goals, strengthen tendering discipline, and drive efficiency without compromising quality or customer focus. You will drive synergies between the FACTS business, ensuring a unified go-to-market approach within a flat, efficient hierarchy. Your expertise in people management and organizational design is crucial for delivering innovative and customer-focused solutions while building a resilient tendering organization that consistently meets and exceeds expectations.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Tender Managers, fostering a high-performance culture while overseeing the end-to-end tender process for all FACTS projects to ensure quality, compliance, and competitiveness.
  • Define and implement tendering strategies that align with business objectives and market trends, while coordinating cross-functional activities with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Commercial, and Sales teams.
  • Ensure robust risk management, cost estimation, and contract negotiation practices across all tenders, maintaining adherence to company policies, governance, and ethical standards.
  • Represent the department in executive management meetings, customer presentations, and strategic discussions, driving process improvements and knowledge sharing within the tendering organization.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and consortium partners, while monitoring market developments and competitor activities to inform tendering strategies.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages lessons learned and continuous improvement across the tendering process.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field, with longstanding experience in project, tender, or project management, and several years of experience in a leadership or departmental management role.
  • Proven experience managing tenders or projects in EPC Turnkey Transmission Businesses within the Energy Sector, with a strong preference for FACTS experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to report to and present before executive management, as well as to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams across country borders, with deep knowledge of project-related technical, commercial, and contractual management.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a track record of developing high-performing teams, coupled with a proactive, self-starter approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), with German language skills as a plus, and willingness to travel internationally.
