A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Operational Excellence Engineer, you will operate as the factory’s integrator of strategy deployment, end‑to‑end flow, and execution discipline. You will own the local Strategy Deployment program (Hoshin Kanri -workshops, catchball alignment, X‑Matrix maintenance) and ensure progress is governed through a minimum monthly performance review rhythm connected to visual management. You will also be responsible for demonstrating and maintaining E2E Value Stream Mapping (VSM), ensuring lead time, WIP, and process data are known, maps are refreshed on a planned cadence, and improvement actions are translated into measurable execution through VSM → VSD → Targets → Measures → Implementation. Your role is highly visible across both the shop floor and administrative processes, partnering with teams from order‑to‑production value streams to make problems visible, connect daily priorities to strategic objectives, and sustain improvements through standard work and management routines.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead Hoshin Kanri / Policy Deployment at the site: facilitate workshops and catchball; maintain the XMatrix that links breakthrough objectives, annual priorities, initiatives, owners, and KPIs.
  • Establish and run minimum monthly performance reviews for Hoshin progress; ensure strategy outputs (targets/KPIs/Lean roadmap) are communicated and aligned with visual management.
  • Own E2E Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for main value streams, ensuring lead time, process data, and WIP are known and VSM updates are scheduled and maintained
  • Translate mapping insights into execution using VSM → VSD → Targets → Measures → Implementation, integrating actions into the site operating cadence.
  • Strengthen daily management to stabilize performance, surface abnormalities, and accelerate crossfunctional problem solving tied to strategic priorities.
  • Coach teams in structured problem solving and sustainment (standard work, follow‑up routines), ensuring improvements persist in both factory and administrative processes.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to crossfunctional operations (shop floor and/or administrative processes).
  • Demonstrated experience translating strategy into execution using Hoshin Kanri (catchball, XMatrix, KPI reviews) and optimizing the endtoend value stream through E2E VSM (lead time, WIP, and process data) with a scheduled refresh cadence.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization.
  • Datadriven mindset: able to translate objectives into KPIs, identify gaps, and trigger structured countermeasures.
  • Strong facilitation skills for crossfunctional workshops and alignment across shop floor and administrative value streams.
