A Snapshot of Your Day

As a member of our global technology team, with focus on large gas-turbine applications, you work on challenging projects developing breakthrough technologies including the ability for state-of-the-art, data based modeling for the highly efficient large gas turbine design improvements as part of the energy transition. By extensive domain know-how, and novel modeling techniques, you are involved in global teams developing methodologies and tools for products, solutions, and services for our customers.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Development of advanced, data based technology & design feature modeling for improved competitiveness of power generation energy systems in the area of Turbomachinery.
  • Includes integration of AI and data-driven solutions into a gas-turbine design environment, and their demonstration & application to product design.
  • Foster innovation by working on a combination of commercial and internally developed software programs and their related enhancement towards AI / data-driven analysis.
  • Work in cross-organizational, multi-disciplinary teams supporting application and implementation of advanced engineering design methods.
  • Drive collaboration and communication with design engineers in R&D, engineers throughout the Siemens internal engineering community throughout our global location setup, as well as collaboration with external partners.

What You Bring

  • Master of Science or PhD in Turbomachinery / Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics with at least 8+ years of relevant experience. Those with more experience may be considered for a higher level (5b S40).
  • Profound Understanding of Simulation and Analysis Software (for state-of-the-art 3D fluid and structural applications in industrial design environments).
  • Excellent programming skills and an understanding of modern software development toolsets.
  • Expertise in AI / ML with strong application focus.
  • Turbomachinery / Aerospace Design background desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, open-minded and willing to learn.
  • Ability to optimally collaborate in multidisciplinary, multinational, global teams.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Quality mindset, with innovative curiosity and strong customer focus.
  • As a federal contractor, Siemens Energy continues to monitor federal and state legal guidelines regarding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Through our Generation division, we enhance and innovate conventional and renewable power supply. Currently, we're reducing carbon emissions of existing assets and developing technologies that transform power generation applications.
