Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team!

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, testing and optimization of Large Electric Generators for the Fossil and Nuclear Power industry.  In this role, you will apply expertise in analytics, data science, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and CAD systems to support the development of innovative product designs and process improvements. You will generate data-driven recommendations that align with evolving market dynamics and customer requirements, contributing to the continuous advancement of our engineering capabilities.  In addition, you will apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems, not covered by existing procedures or practices.   A Mechanical Engineer displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or multi-functional problems. You will guide communication of complex technical and commercial issues.

Our ideal candidate will be highly organized, and possess a strong background in CAD fundamentals, GD&T methods, machine design, failure mode analysis, and product development processes.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Execute engineering R&D studies. Interface manufacturing engineering network to assure competitive and cost-efficient designs.
  • Contribute to the Conceptional, Basic and Detailed design of electric generators.
  • Perform finite element analysis using ANSYS or similar code.
  • Review and approve manufacturing and customer transmittal drawings. Prepare and present Design Reviews as required by internal requirements.
  • Assist in the resolution of manufacturing, installation or operational issues.
  • Support the resolution/remediation of product issues and participate in root cause analyses.

What You Bring

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, MSME is a plus! 3+ years’ experience in design (experience in computational analytics, data science, Finite Element Analysis), and/or maintenance of rotating machinery; in the power generation industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in CAD, GD&T and CAE fundamentals.
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical skills. Self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively in a team setting with excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to travel (10%).
