This position is optimally for an individual with extensive experience and a strong leadership background in the manufacturing and repair of power transformers. It offers an outstanding opportunity to be involved in a significant project from the ground up, playing a key role in the development and success of a new facility.
As the Manufacturing Head at the new Siemens Energy Transformers Repair Center in Linz, Austria, you will take the lead in coordinating and developing manufacturing processes and relevant interfaces. The initial phase of this role will focus on ensuring the timely setup of the factory, particularly regarding manufacturing equipment. You will concentrate on building a high-performance manufacturing team for the new repair and production facility for power transformers.
You will guide the team in alignment with the company’s objectives while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Additionally, you will improve your team’s expertise and supply to the development of effective business processes.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Support and implement the business strategy by performing initiatives aligned with Key Performance Indicators.
- Establish yourself as a reliable partner in critical areas such as production technology, factory capacity, production orders, process stability, delivery reliability, and budget compliance.
- Lead the manufacturing team by hiring, training, and developing key roles while defining and optimizing the entire manufacturing process and its interfaces to ensure a skilled and efficient workforce.
- Ensure strict compliance with all legal and internal requirements related to occupational health and safety, quality, environmental standards in the area.
- Promote and implement innovative digital tools to streamline the manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality products and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement new manufacturing technologies and enhance product design for manufacturability and drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency.
What You Bring
- University degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in manufacturing industries, preferably within the Power Transformer sector or in electrical and mechanical domains.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role or equivalent, demonstrating a proven track record of success.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies, combined with technical knowledge and a proactive approach.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate efficiently across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
- Proficiency in both English and German, along with knowledge in electro technical equipment, planning and logistics, as well as familiarity with SAP and HANA systems.

At Siemens Energy we offer competitive compensation and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. Due to the Austrian legal regulations, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Please note that there is a clear willingness for a higher compensation considering your individual expectations, expertise and skills. The minimum salary for this position in the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry is in the amount of 79.204,72 € gross/year for a full-time position (38,5 h/week).
