A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Global Training Manager you will join our global transformers and switchgears manufacturing business and will be responsible for establishing and implementing a comprehensive global training framework through close collaboration with personnel from various Clusters of Grid Technologies Products (GT PR).
You will be a part of GT PR incredible growth journey as we need to ramp up our global operations capabilities in under two years to meet the market demand. This means, factory expansions/additions and headcount additions of >3000 between blue and white collars. Such magnitude of growth brings a unique challenge, which is, ramping up the skills of our blue- and white-collar hires within a short window without impacting current productivity of our operations.
This role is crucial for ensuring that the company's workforce is well-trained and capable of meeting the demands of a global manufacturing operation. By standardizing training and leveraging digital solutions, the Training Manager will help the company achieve greater scalability and speed in its training efforts.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training framework that aligns with the GT PR global manufacturing operation’s needs (focus on technical and soft skills of blue- and white-collar personnel)
- Collaborate with key personnel from different manufacturing sites to collect information on headcount ramp-up plans, general training needs, technology-specific training needs, and role-specific training requirements
- Conduct a thorough gap analysis to understand the current training content available and identify areas for improvement
- Establish and develop training content needed to address identified gaps, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and relevance
- Leverage internal and external resources to identify and implement technologically advanced solutions that enhance the scalability and speed of training programs
- Ensure training programs are accessible in multiple languages to support the diverse workforce and define timeline requirements for training programs and establish tools to track trainees' progress and maintain their capability matrix on an ongoing basis
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certifications in training and development are a plus
- Proven experience in establishing green-field training setup for global manufacturing operations with focus on upskilling blue-collar employees as well as experience with digital training solutions and e-learning platforms
- Strong background in development of competency management system
- Background in Learning Management System development and implementation, in transformers or switchgears manufacturing and in establishing training centers for blue-collars competency development
- Strong understanding of training methodologies and best practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with trainers from various clusters and other stakeholders globally
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong analytical skills to assess training needs and measure the effectiveness of training programs
