A day in the life of a Business Developer at Siemens Energy is dynamic, blending strategic planning, market analysis, and customer engagement. The day typically begins with distributed team meetings to align on priorities and ongoing projects relevant to the different Hubs. This is followed by conducting in-depth market research to identify emerging trends and new business opportunities. Collaborative sessions with senior management and teams from different departments to optimize overall performance. It also involves providing sales support through market insights. Networking, Customer meetings and relationship-building activities are key to better understand market drivers and build value propositions. This role demands strong analytical skills, critical thinking, excellent communication and collaboration to drive growth and expand Siemens Energy's market presence.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Regional Strategy: Contribute to the development of the regional business strategy, aligning with Siemens Energy's global objectives and priorities. Identify growth areas and market segments, and drive the execution of several growth projects for Latin America. Lead implementation of market & customer development roadmaps and the underlying business opportunities in coordination with all internal and external business partners
- Opportunity Identification: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities across the energy value chain. Assess market potential and feasibility to prioritize high-impact initiatives, including go/no go decisions.
- Customer Engagement: Engage with existing and potential customers to understand their needs, challenges, and goals. Develop tailored value propositions and solutions that address their specific requirements and deliver measurable benefits.
- Sales Support: Work closely with the BD and Business Areas Sales teams to support the development and execution of sales strategies. Act as liaison between the business units and country managing directors.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop the Regional Partner & Network Strategy in the hub and the perfection between hubs. Collaborate to build mutually beneficial solutions and drive joint business development efforts.
- People growth: invest in our people’s growth with dedicated development plans empowering them to reach their full potential.
- Executive support: Serve as trusted advisor and compile presentations for executive management.
- Lead business review and planning initiatives in the region, improving local competitiveness and developing the market, competitors, and local talent. Prepare regular reports and presentations on market trends, business development activities, and performance metrics. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
What you Bring
- "Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business, strategy, government relations or related areas, preferably within the energy industry.
- Strong understanding of the energy market, including key players, trends, and regulatory environment.
- Analytical problem solver with a strategic demeanor.
- Outstanding leadership and management skills
- Prior project management / consulting experience
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Versatile, creative, lean, agile, pro-active, hands-on approach of getting things done
- Proficient in English. Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is an added advantage
- Proficiency in CRM tools.
