Snapshot of Your Day:
As a PLM Teamcenter Migration Specialist at Siemens Energy, your day will be a blend of strategic planning, technical execution, and collaborative problem-solving. You will begin by reviewing migration requirements and developing detailed plans to ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to Siemens Teamcenter and SAP. Throughout the day, you will engage in data mapping, extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring data integrity and consistency. You will also conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns. By the end of the day, you will have made significant progress in migrating critical data, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations, and enhancing our PLM capabilities.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Data Migration: Lead the migration of data from legacy PLM systems to Siemens Teamcenter, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
- Planning and Execution: Develop and execute detailed migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- ETL Processes: Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities, ensuring seamless data transfer and integration.
- Customer Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, and business units, to understand their requirements and ensure successful migration.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the migration process, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation of migration processes, methodologies, and best practices to support future projects and audits.
What You Bring:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or equivalent experience or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of work experience in data migration, preferably within a PLM environment, with a solid focus on the following:
- Teamcenter: Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM system, including data structures, workflows, and integration points.
- SAP: Experience with SAP systems, particularly in the context of PLM data migration and integration.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of data migration methodologies, ETL processes, and PLM systems. Proficiency in SQL, scripting languages, PLMXML, and data transformation tools is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to solve complex data migration issues and implement effective solutions.
- Communication: Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical collaborators.
- Project Management: Experience in managing data migration projects, with a track record of delivering successful migrations on time and within budget.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy and consistency throughout the migration process.
