at Siemens Energy
The Assistant Security Manager contributes to the security of Siemens Energy personnel and assets in North-West African sub-region and provides support to the Hub Function EHS, Quality Governance and Security (EQS). The main responsibility is to provide tactical and operational support to our business in the North-West African sub-region, thus requiring regular travel across the region. Responsibility comprises the areas of Safety and Security Compliance, Travel and Workplace Safety and Security, Asset Protection, Incident and Crisis Management / Business Continuity, in close alignment with local service providers, government entities and Siemens Energy businesses.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Contributes to the safety and security of Siemens Energy personnel, assets, and operations in the North-West African sub-region as part of the Siemens Energy Corporate Security organization (SE EQS SEC).
Supports the implementation and compliance with Siemens Energy safety and security governance requirements, including but not limited to travel and project security, security incident management, crisis management and business continuity, asset protection and physical security, executive and event protection, situation, and threat analysis.
Providing tactical, operational support and security consultation to the Siemens Energy sub-region, and work in close cooperation with external and internal stakeholders.
Conduct assessments of Siemens Energy locations to evaluate safety and security measures and provide recommendations.
Assist in identifying evaluation and verification of local security providers and other contacts to support our business activities.
Analyze threats, conduct risk assessments, evaluate, recommend and coordinating risk mitigation measures, conducting timely security investigations, and aligning project and business activities.
Promotes security awareness, conducts trainings, and delivers proportionate and cost-effective security measures to support the achievement of business objectives, as well as seeking to simplify and improve processes and procedures.
Participates in the strategic and operational planning of the Hub’s security implementation, and coordinates safety and security topics with other EQS SEC ROW teams as necessary.
In times where the focus is not on providing operational support to our North-West African sub-region activities the Assistant Security Manager will contribute to the regional security organization in Hub Africa, provide consulting and implementation support among the topics of Safety and Security Compliance, Travel and Workplace Safety and Security, Asset Protection, Incident & Crisis Management / Business Continuity.
What You Bring
● Well spoken and Written English and preferably French Language Capability
● At least +5 years of experience working in corporate security or a similar environment, with proven operational experience in the North-West African sub-region.
● In-depth knowledge about the political and security situation in North-West African sub-region, and the ability to provide analysis and insight to business managers.
● Computer skills and ability to learn relevant Siemens Energy specific applications supporting Security tasks.
● Strong customer orientation – to rapidly and flexibly respond to customer needs for urgent support.
● Willingness to travel extensively (>50%)
● Ability to analyse and assimilate information from diverse sources, including local and international media outlets, social media outlets, local information sources etc.
● Ability to prioritize tasks and to manage workloads in an effective manner with minimal direct supervision and flexibility in managing multiple and diverse tasks.
● Ability to work under stress and outside of standard working hours if required.
● Proven integrity and high personal standards of behaviour.
● Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in time critical situations, willingness to work outside of regular working hours in time critical situations.
● Sensitive and responsive to the needs of different religious, ethnic, tribal, and cultural groups.
