A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Technical Writer for HVDC/GA commissioning and operation manuals, your role will entail creating project-specific manuals that meet both contract requirements and Siemens Energy standards. You will be responsible for incorporating all significant changes that occur during the engineering and commissioning stages of a project into the final operating manual for the plant. This role requires close collaboration with the commissioning team, project management, and the client.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Developing project-specific commissioning and operation manuals that align with both contract terms and internal standards for all equipment within SE's supply scope
  • Handling the scope and schedule for the manuals in coordination with project management 
  • Clarifying interfaces with engineering concerning the manuals
  • Ensuring the manuals are complete and relevant by incorporating changes and adding any missing technical data
  • Updating and crafting new standard modules for commissioning and operating manuals
What You Bring
  • Proficiency in English and German, both written and spoken
  • A degree in electrical engineering.
  • Substantial experience in Electrical Commissioning, operation, or engineering for HVDC/Grid Access projects
  • Understanding of Grid/Plant interface 
  • Experience in establishing initial switching procedures for newly installed equipment with external entity interfaces (e.g., grid) 
  • Comprehension of critical functionalities of protection devices as well as knowledge of oil-filled transformers and accessories 
  • Experience with Generator and Transformer Protection Systems as well as with AC/DC switchgear, including protection circuits and interlocks 
  • Experience with AC/DC, and DC/DC converters, including UPS Systems as well as with CWC (Converter Water Cooling) systems and their operation 
  • Experience with BS (Building Services) technology and its interaction with the HVDC system
