A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Technical Expert – Field Service Technical Support, you are the primary technical focal point for assigned customers and field service activities within the Distributed Products portfolio. You provide first-level technical support, technical support outage preparation and execution for customer-specific maintenance events, analyze equipment reliability data, review field service findings, coordinate actions arising from fleet bulletins and remote diagnostics, and support service growth opportunities.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Lead technical issue resolution by taking ownership of complex technical problems, coordinating with Product Competence Centers and specialist engineering teams, and supporting troubleshooting and return-to-service during planned and unplanned maintenance events.
- Plan and support outages by developing tailored outage strategies based on customer history, equipment condition, fleet experience, and outage objectives, while providing technical guidance to field engineers during inspections, troubleshooting, commissioning, and outage execution.
- Drive reliability and fleet performance by monitoring availability and reliability indicators, reviewing oil analysis and RDS reports, identifying emerging issues, and supporting mitigation plans to improve asset health.
- Ensure technical governance and continuous improvement by tracking technical bulletins and product advisories, reviewing Field Service Reports for quality and consistency, and capturing lessons learned to enhance future outage execution and fleet reliability.
- Support projects and overhauls by providing technical input for project planning, execution, and close-out, defining overhaul scope, assessing risks, recommending repairs, and coordinating engineering activities during major maintenance campaigns.
- Provide technical sales support by contributing expertise during customer discussions and proposal development, identifying service, upgrade, modernization, and outage-related business opportunities, and supporting their technical qualification.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Field Service, Technical Support, Service Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, particularly gas turbines and their auxiliary systems.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, maintenance findings, operational data, and diagnostic reports. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities and customer-focused mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a global and cross-functional environment.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken. Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites and support field activities when required.
