A Snapshot of Your Day

To support the acceleration of the digital transformation within Finance Planning & Analytics, this role is being added to the SE FPA Function Controlling team. The position serves as the primary technical expert, responsible for translating business requirements from Product Owners into tangible, scalable software solutions.

Three core areas: full-stack application development for internal finance tools, collaborative business analysis to define and refine technical solutions, and ensuring all development adheres to operational and governance standards. This approach ensures that the solutions are not only technically sound but also directly address the underlying business problems in the controlling function.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop, test, and extend the core internal web application to transform and automate finance controlling processes.
  • Translate open-ended business requirements into rapid proofs of concept and deliver robust, scalable solutions in an agile manner.
  • Write, test, and maintain high-quality code, ensuring solutions are future-proofed through thoughtful and pragmatic architectures.
  • Champion and implement automation and AI solutions where applicable, maintaining a balanced view of their benefits and limitations.
  • Act as a technical sparring partner for Product and Process Owners to clarify business problems and technical challenges before development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate general requirements into concrete technical solutions and user stories.
  • Develop a deep understanding of finance processes and business logic to become a subject matter expert for the product area.
  • Participate in workshops with Product and Process Owners to contribute to solution design and process improvements.
  • Contribute to shaping engineering standards, development practices, and the overall technical direction of the product.
  • Ensure all development activities are compliant with corporate governance frameworks, including cybersecurity, data protection, and IT audits.
  • Support deployment and maintenance activities by debugging, correcting programming errors, and implementing enhancements.
  • Manage source code and development pipelines using version control and CI/CD practices.

What You Bring

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer, applying practical knowledge to solve difficult but not complex problems.
  • Experience working within large, governed corporate environments with exposure to compliance, audit, and change management.
  • Experience with finance, accounting, or FP&A processes is highly desirable.
  • Skills in software development and engineering, including knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), proficiency in Python and SQL, front‑end development, API integration, and debugging to support the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable software solutions.
  • Knowledge of modern methodologies and tools, including Agile and Scrum practices, DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and AWS cloud services to support efficient software development, automation, and reliable solution delivery.
  • Strong behavioral and analytical skills, including troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities to identify issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions that support operational efficiency and business objectives.
