Join the Small Gas Turbine (SGT) Field Service Team as an SGT Controls Field Service Representative and get the great opportunity to travel extensively to customer sites across the United States and sometimes internationally! As the lead Controls FSR, you will have direct customer interaction, representing Siemens Energy. Your responsibilities will range from service outages to unit installation, site modifications, and problem-solving.
How You Will Make an Impact
· Maintain the highest level of a zero-harm culture in part by following and carrying out all company and customer EHS policies and programs.
· Manage all tasks involved in equipment installation and service inspections/outages on SGT 100-400 units, as well as potential cross-training in related products.
· Carry out and supervise Controls systems maintenance of Gas Turbines, including working on Energized equipment and loading software. Must have experience with various makes of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms. Ability to make minor and major software changes, including changes in both PLC’s and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems. Must be able to perform loop checks, calibrations, and fix all field end devices.
· Interact with different levels of customer and Siemens organizations to report progress, resolve issues, and identify potential services to be offered based on customer needs.
· Ability to resolve complex problems as required on machinery and ancillary systems. Coordinate with engineering in reporting and implementing changes as necessary to resolve issues. Maintain accurate backup copies of all system software. Additionally, communicate progress, schedules, and open items with clients.
· Travel for extended periods of time, both domestic and international (including travel to developing countries as assigned). Must carry a valid passport and pass both required background checks and required drug and alcohol testing.
What You Bring
· High School diploma or GED that can be verified is required.
· 5+ years of experience with Industrial or Aeroderivative gas turbine controls systems equipment; Candidates with greater experience may be considered for a higher level position.
· Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents is required.
· Familiarity with control systems like Siemens PCS7, Allen Bradley, and others is preferred; Experience with auxiliary control systems such as Bently Nevada, Fire and Gas Control systems also a plus.
· Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to write detailed technical reports for engineering review and analysis is required.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and possess or acquire a passport.
All candidates must be authorized or able to acquire authorization to work in the United States.
Gas Services
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
