A Snapshot of Your Day

The Shop Supervisor is the cornerstone of our daily operations, leading the daily shift toolbox meeting that covers safety, quality, general announcements, and work distribution. You will schedule employee tasks to meet both internal and external deadlines and provide project managers with the necessary labor hours for inspections and repairs. In this role, you must be able to flourish in a fast-paced environment. You will work alongside a team of shopfloor leadmen, engineers, and project managers to repair critical turbomachinery equipment for clients such as oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, universities, and hospitals.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Maintain safe, efficient shop operation adhering to policies; Lead to achieve Safety, Quality, Utilization, Timely Delivery, and Quote Response.
  • Coordinate daily schedules, monitor project progress, facilitate department communication, and schedule shift changes.
  • Positively direct employees to complete tasks efficiently and timely, meeting quoted hours for the task.
  • Improve the proficiencies of shop floor personnel and identify training requirements.
  • Support the Service Center Manager with hiring efforts, including interviews, shop tours, and skills assessments.
  • Coordinate required service to upkeep shop machinery and equipment, including maintenance, tooling, calibration, and safety inspections, per company policies; Promote and support good housekeeping, safety, efficiency, and quality; Promote "6S" by monitoring the overall cleanliness and organization of all shop areas; Place work orders on the facility management portal for routine maintenance items; Collaborate, support, and supervise contractors and vendors performing facility maintenance work and special building projects; Show engagement and involvement on existing projects, and bring ideas for new projects.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience that can be verified.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with rotating and/or reciprocating equipment repairs (i.e., steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, turbochargers, valves, dry gas seals), manufacturing environment, and/or quoting hours and resources for repair scopes.
  • Proven ability to read scales, micrometers, and proven ability to interpret shop instructions and manufacturing drawings; Familiarity with tools and equipment at the repair center.
  • Must be skilled in MS Office suite and tablet devices; familiarity with SAP and project management tools is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic, pursuing excellence and a high-quality standard; Dependable and able to be at work promptly on time every day and be wlling to work overtime as needed (weekends & holidays may be occasionally required based on client schedules).
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated ability operating overhead cranes and forklifts and rigging with straps, chains, chain-falls, swivel eyes, etc., is preferred.
