A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

As a Senior Finance Analyst - Foreign Currency at Siemens Energy, you will collaborate closely with the Cash & Bank/Foreign Exchange team and various internal stakeholders to handle and mitigate foreign exchange risks affecting our North American operations! Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing effective hedging strategies, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of derivatives and foreign currency cash flows, and driving automation and digitalization initiatives to enhance efficiency. Flexibility in your schedule will be essential, especially during month-end closing periods, as you adapt to changing requirements and priorities in a dynamic work environment!

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Identify foreign exchange risks and exposures, advise internal stakeholders on hedging strategies and accounting practices to align with business objectives.
  • Manage and reconcile cash flows in foreign currency accounts, implementing foreign exchange contracts while optimizing financial performance.
  • Calculate and record month-end derivative fair values, ensuring compliance with accounting, treasury, and corporate foreign exchange policies, including IFRS/Siemens Reporting Guidelines.
  • Conduct General Ledger reviews and account reconciliations, applying digital tools to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
  • Drive process efficiencies by implementing automation solutions and collaborating with cross-functional international teams to enhance operational workflows and support strategic goals.

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Over 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a large enterprise environment.
  • Sophisticated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAP, and ERP systems, with strong analytical and technical accounting skills for operational improvement and problem resolution.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of conveying complex information and facilitating effective meetings.
  • High integrity, hard-working, and resourceful, with a willingness to travel (less than 5%) and a focus on achieving goals independently and within teams.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
