The Challenge

As part of a wider HR transformation program and the spin-off of Siemens Energy from Siemens, the payroll operating model moving forward will be fully comprehensive, split between a professional HR BPO for zero to gross processing and handled payroll (gross to net) with industry leading payroll providers. We are looking for a Regional Payroll Manager to play a key role leading the payroll service delivery in the region, working alongside a global and team with varied strengths of senior payroll leaders ensuring and maintaining fit-for-purpose processes, governing end-to-end delivery in a timely and accurate manner.


How you will make an impact / Key responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the payroll transformation in the region and support the Regional Payroll Lead with service managing the external partners and payroll providers engaged in this transformation and Payroll Operations.
  • Handle good relationships with vendors responsible for payroll on regional level
  • Ensure payroll performance of third parties through key performance and risk indicators and find opportunities for improvement (i.e., automating processes) to ensure global standard and efficient operational delivery.
  • Run the communication with local and regional collaborators and partners (such as local HR, HR Services, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, etc) to ensure efficient local payroll processes and clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead HR Payroll requests according to regional and local policies and support implementation of improvement possibilities.
  • Guarantee alignment with the global payroll standards and policies and implement a control framework for risk identification and risk mitigation in the region. Liaising with external auditors.
  • Develop and communicate HR Payroll policies, processes, and regulations to customers, e.g., HR Business Partner, Legal, Works Council etc.
  • Manage team to identify, analyse, and resolve sophisticated payroll queries as they are intensified through HR, managers, and employees.
  • Support development of HR Payroll Systems & major projects related to policies, processes, systems, and tools.
  • Being counterpart for other HR-Services teams / regular collaboration within HR Services.
  • Have a proactive demeanour with strong problem-solving capabilities and customer service orientation.
  • Manage the payroll Team in overseeing all payroll runs, assist with supervision of the day-to-day activities of assigned staff.
  • Supervise and direct payroll team, ensure appropriate workload allocation, sharing the knowledge, review performance and instil a company culture.
  • Hiring and training payroll staff, ensuring team members can improve, grow, and progress continuously.
  • Coordinate, establishes and maintains written documentation regarding country knowledge, payroll procedures and processes.
  • Be part of the implementation of new payrolls in your region
  • Participate in cross -functional projects.

What you bring
  • 5+ years of experience in HR and Payroll Operations, including vendor management for related countries.
  • High level of affinity to and experience with Payroll solutions
  • Excellent in-depth analytical skills and diligent work style
  • International mind-set; sophisticated experience as part of a geographically & culturally complementary team
  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office applications
  • Expertise on Project Management
  • Collaborative style, happy to interact with many team members e.g., in HR Centres of Competence and HR in the Regions, IT department, Finance department, management etc.
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team, leading through building trust and empowering teams to deliver successfully.
  • Team leadership experience
  • Must be proficiency in English, and nice to have a local language from supporting countries.
