The Commodity Manager position is an individual contributor role that provides strategic leadership for their assigned commodity within Siemens Energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact.

• Manage the Forgings commodity (that includes Forgings, Machined Parts, Fastners, Cold Blades) for India region supplier base.
  
• Define the Ecosystem strategy in the respective area of responsibility with cross functional counterparts and support from GCMs and in alignment with business
• Ensure India region supplier base is identified and effectively used by Siemens Energy businesses globally.
• Ensure transparency on cost structures and spend in area of responsibility via Commodity Circles.
• Increase Managed Spend in the area of responsibility by safeguarding awardings following the defined commodity strategy for India region supplier base.
• Implement periodic strategic procurement activities – negotiations planning, commodity strategy updates, awarding strategy and sourcing board approvals, quarterly review meetings, etc.
• Prepare, negotiate, award and make available frame contracts & price lists for strategic suppliers in accordance with business and market requirements (in alignment with GCM)
• Generate, document and implement savings measures, supervise and report relevant KPI
• Drive early procurement / supplier involvement and cost out activities via respective Commodity Circles
• Identify procurement risks and opportunities and implement respective measures, Feedback India region supplier market information and knowledge to stakeholders through network.

What you Bring

• BE,/ B.Tech Mechanical, Supply Chain Management with minimum of 10 years’ collective experience working in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sourcing, discipline, or similar function and having experience in managing the Forgings commodity (that includes Forgings, Machined Parts, Fastners, Cold Blades) for India region supplier base.
  
• Advanced knowledge of sourcing processes. Experience handling Long Term Contracts and negotiating complex terms and conditions.
• Strong working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes for assigned commodity. Excellent leadership skills and proven ability to lead change.
• Experience using financial and data-driven techniques to make decisions.
• Ability to influence through effective verbal and written communication skills; clearly and succinctly conveys information and ideas to individuals and groups. Good problem solving and decision-making skills, Leader, self-starter.
• Can travel to 15% to 20% both domestically and internationally. Fluent In English.
• SM or APICS Certified, Lean/Six Sigma experience, Multilingual language skills are a plus
• Knowledge of Turbine & Turbomachinery Industry
